International Association of Minority Veterans (IAMVVETS)
The International Association of Minority Veterans (IAMVVETS) proudly serves military service members, veterans, and their families in Onslow County and surrounding areas. We provide a variety of services to support veterans as they transition back to civilian life and access the benefits they have earned.
Our services include:
   •    VA compensation and pension claim assistance
   •    Discharge upgrade guidance
   •    Active-duty transition counseling
   •    Veteran family advocacy
   •    Homeless veterans program & housing referral assistance
   •    Music and garden therapy programs
   •    Peer Support Specialist (PSS) services
   •    NC SOAR Worker assistance for SSI/SSDI benefits
These programs are designed to ensure veterans and their families receive the tools, resources, and support they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives.
In addition, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers a wide range of benefits including counseling and mental health support, disability compensation, education and career resources, and healthcare services.
Finally, each state provides its own veteran-specific programs and resources. Veterans are encouraged to check with their state of residence to take full advantage of all available support.
